Betknowmore UK, a nonprofit organization committed to responsible gambling, has joined the NGSN to better assist those who are experiencing gambling-related damage over the next three years. The NGSN is a GambleAware-commissioned network of treatment providers from the nonprofit sector that are committed to providing services in their respective regions, with an emphasis on early intervention.
GambleAware has announced that it would be doubling its funding for the network that helps people in Britain who are suffering from the negative effects of gambling over the coming year. As part of this process, local service providers will have access to enhanced referral pathways that will enable them to route patients to the most appropriate treatment program.
The new service will improve the gambling harms treatment sector by encouraging a comprehensive, coordinated approach and inspiring service providers to be creative in their efforts to help those in need at a reasonable cost. In the event of a short-term intervention for gambling-related damage, persons in need will be sent to a local service provider. After a thorough evaluation, service providers in the area will recommend the most suitable course of action.
The team at Betknowmore is ecstatic to be a part of this effort, which they believe will change early intervention, support, and treatment services in meaningful ways that have far-reaching effects.
Fanatics, Hard Rock, and PointsBet Join RGC
On a similar note, the Responsible Gambling Collaborative (RGC) has just added three new members as it continues to make great gains in promoting responsible gaming throughout the United States. The RGC is a coalition of major online gaming companies committed to implementing industry-led responsible gambling standards, and it now includes Fanatics Betting and Gaming, Hard Rock Digital, and PointsBet.
Since its inception in September of last year, the RGC has rapidly grown into a formidable advocate for responsible gaming. Bally’s, BetMGM, DraftKings, Entain, FanDuel, and MGM Resorts International are just some of the industry heavyweights who have signed on as members, promising to adhere to the RGC’s 12 principles in everything that they do.
One of the main advantages of the RGC is that each operator must submit to an external evaluation by a team of experts who then provide recommendations for future efforts. As a result of this independent examination, the RGC can be confident that its members will be held to the high standards it has set.
The RGC is also dedicated to introducing several responsible gaming resources, including websites, ambassadors, and collaborations with top universities for research. The ultimate goal is to safeguard players and encourage ethical gaming in the gaming industry as a whole.
