International Game Technology PLC (IGT) has been having quite a good time this year thanks to all the re-accreditation it has achieved. Most recently, the company has announced that its PlayDigital™ has successfully achieved responsible gambling re-accreditation by the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4). The company is now the first gaming solutions provider to have its Digital and Gaming segments be re-accredited by the Global Gambling Guidance Group.
“As the gaming industry leader serving customers around the world, IGT recognizes the importance of developing and delivering innovative, research-based responsible gaming technologies and services across our business segments. This independent certification reinforces IGT’s position as a highly responsible vendor, emphasizing the effectiveness of our solutions in helping operators protect their players.”
– Wendy Montgomery, IGT Senior Vice President, Global Brand, Marketing, and Communications.
G4 first issued IGT with a responsible gambling certification back in 2017 and this was followed by certifications of its land-based casino segment and digital services in 2019. That made it the very first casino solutions supplier to receive certifications across both segments.
The Quest to Minimize Problem Gambling
With the massive increase in online gambling activities across the globe, there has been a significant increase in cases of gambling-related harm. G4’s goal is to at least minimize the problem gambling and its impacts by pushing for worldwide accreditation for both the gaming operators as well as the casino content suppliers.
According to Pieter Remmers, Chairman of the G4 Board of Directors, there is now more need for responsible gambling standards than ever before and therefore the willingness of IGT to be one of the accredited members is certainly commendable.
Before receiving the G4 certification, IGT had to go through a thorough review to ensure compliance. To begin with, the gaming content supplier was independently evaluated in order to ensure that it meets all of the industry standards in as far as the provision of player protection is concerned. G4 further checked for the responsible gambling information that IGT provided on its IGT Gaming and PlayDigital platforms. Moreover, IGT also had to explicitly demonstrate its commitment to research, policy development, and employee training all of which are meant to advance responsible gambling measures.
Thankfully, IGT has all that it takes to protect all of its customers and promote responsible gambling behavior. The company capitalizes on significant investment in innovation and the latest state-of-the-art technology that not only delivers on unmatched gaming experiences but also offers outstanding player protection.
